Sir Roger Bone

Sir Roger joined ITM in June 2014 as a Non-Executive Director, and was appointed as Chair of the Board in October 2019. 

Sir Roger was President of Boeing UK from 2005 to 2014 and was the Chairman of Over-C Ltd, a small high-tech software company, until September 2023. He was senior independent director of Foreign and Colonial Investment Trust Plc until May 2021 and a non-executive director and trustee of the National Centre for Universities and Business (NCUB) from 2013 to 2019. He was a Trustee of the Royal United Services Institute, the London based think tank, from 2013 to 2020.

From 2009 to 2015, Sir Roger acted as one of the Prime Minister's honorary Ambassadors for British business. He was British Ambassador to Brazil from 1999 to 2004 and to Sweden from 1995 to 1999, and prior to that an Assistant Under-Secretary of State in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

He was educated at Oxford University and holds an honorary doctorate in engineering from Sheffield University. He is an honorary fellow of the Institution of Engineering Designers.
